Only the BJ cartridge replacement operation is detected. 11) Waste ink full error: The total waste ink amount recorded by the EEPROM exceeds the specified limit. 12) Purging operation error: The purging operation detection at the capping position is irregular. 13) Scanner cartridge error: The scanner cartridge is recognized but the scanner ID is incorrect; or the calibration data sent from the computer is incorrect. Then twice more and cleaning led will blink for 2 min. When blinking stops press micro up. ( if pattern is still bad then cartridge or logic board is bad.). Eprom reset 1.while holding down the power and resume, insert the plug of the ac adapter connected to the ac outlet into the printer, then release the buttons. 2. Press the power button again.(the long and short beeper sounds once, respectively. 3.press the resume button the specified number of times,(refer to table 3-7 in part 3 of the manual).the beeper sounds once every time the resume button is pressed.) 4. The selected default data is written into the Eprom, and the data is reset. Multipass C-3000
BJC-4000 Eprom reset With a/c unplugged, hold power & resume and reconnect power. Power will be off at this point. Hold resume & cartridge buttons and press power button, then release all. This will print a grid with different colors. Make sure printer is set to default in properties. Test in notepad or dos. This is an access door. Place a small flat blade screw driver in the middle of the slot and (caution access door will pop out) pry up on the handle of the screwdriver. On the left side is a round switch. Using an nonconductive tool smaller in diameter than a pencil, press switch. Wait till printer is in standby mode. Lift the left side and locate a lever on the bottom directly under the air vents 3/4 of the way toward the back. Depress the test lever. It prints a vertical line down the paper. Corrective action: Install the designated BJ cartridge. 5) High head temperature warning (during head replacement): The head temperature is found to be too high when BJ cartridge replacement is attempted. At this time, the carriage will not move to the replacement position. Corrective action: Leave the printer to cool down for a while and then press the resume button, or close the front cover once and then open it again. 6) Waste ink full warning: The total waste ink amount recorded by the EEPROM is approaching the specified limit. Corrective action: Press the power button and turn off the printer. Errors that cannot be corrected by a user: 7) Home position error: The home position of the carriage cannot be detected. 8) Cleaning error: The head cleaning or capping detection at the capping position is irregular. 9) Sheet feeder error: The initial position of the pick-up roller cannot be detected. 10) Temperature sensor error: The reading of the temperature sensor (TH1) on the logic board is irregular. 11) Waste ink full error: The total waste ink amount recorded by the EEPROM has exceeded the specified limit. 12) Head temperature error: The temperature in the BJ cartridge has exceeded the specified limit. 13) Sub-heater error: The sub-heater in the BJ cartridge is not operating properly. 14) BJ cartridge not found error: The printer cannot detect the BJ cartridge. Only the BJ cartridge replacement operation is detected. 15) EEPROM error: The EEPROM check has recognized some kind of irregularity. 16) ROM error: The ROM check fails when the AC power cord is plugged in (during the initializing operation). At this time, the indicator may not light to indicate the error. 17) RAM error: The RAM check fails when the AC power cord is plugged in (during the initializing operation). At this time, the indicator may not light to indicate the error. Turn off the printer. 2. Remove all the ink tanks. (cartridges) 3. Unplug the printer (maybe easiest to unplug from back of printer). 4. Set paper thickness lever to the plain paper position. 5. Hold power and FF buttons while plugging the printer in. 6. After tone(s) and print head mechanism stops moving, press online. You should hear more tone(s). 7. Set paper thickness lever to the envelope position. 8. Press FF button. There should be more tone(s) and then it shuts itself off. 9. Unplug the printer. 10. Install all ink tanks.(cartridges) 11. Set paper thickness lever back to the plain paper position. 12. Plug the printer in. Corrective action: Reinstall the BJ cartridge and press the resume button. 5) Waste ink alarm: The waste ink or waste ink optimizer exceeds 95% printer capacity. Corrective action: Press the resume button. 6) BJ cartridge overheat error: The temperature of the diode sensor in the BJ cartridge head exceeds the specified limit. Corrective action: Leave the printer to cool down for a while and then press the resume button.
